Harvesting time is on its way and in not so long the first grapes of this year will be picked to make the Spanish wines of 2018. At Incentives Barcelona we always love to include small, not that touristic and hidden places in our activities and the same goes for the wineries. Instead of big wineries, we look for the small family-owned and quality ‘bodegas’ where you will fully live the wine experience. This month we made a short route along 3 of our favorite wineries to check out their new activities or just simply to say hi (and buy some wine ;)).
We first headed up to the north of Barcelona and although there are fewer wineries in that region, the ones that are there are really worthwhile to visit. We arrived at the first winery, surrounded by beautiful green nature, a small one, but with plenty of charming indoor and outdoor spaces to organise a meeting, lunch, presentation or cocktail dinner. But also with the possibility to do fun activities like cycling, creating your own wine or an i-pad rally between the vineyards. We can really recommend this place for the multiple spaces and possibilities it offers for small groups as well as for larger ones.
We totally like the second wine cellar we visited. It is much more modern than the traditional bodegas with their stone houses or masias, but what an incredible view you have from their garden and multipurpose room with enormous windows! The history around this wine and its founder is also really special. In fact, a book has been written about his life and how his wine got served at several important and famous events in Spain and the USA. The wines are amazing so you can imagine that the wine tasting is one of the best parts of a visit to this winery. The garden and glass room are perfect for cocktail parties or informal brunches. And we definitely recommend their segway tours through the vineyards!
The last winery we visited during our tour is situated in the beautiful Penedès region and is pioneer in organically farmed wines since 1978. The house on this farm belongs to the Albet i Noya family and part of this family also actually lives there. Don’t be surprised to see the grandmother or one of her sons during your visit to this bodega. This is one of the smaller wineries, but really nice to visit with a group interested in organic wines. Here we can also organise various activities and we would suggest you stay here for a lunch in the garden since the food is prepared by one of the best caterings in the region.
All wineries are at approx. 1 hour drive from Barcelona, but if you have time we recommend to spend the day at one of these 3 bodegas doing activities, wine tastings and enjoying lunch. You will be delighted to see these amazing places and taste their great wines.
Don’t hesitate, contact us and let’s make a great programme for your client or company!
We hope to see you soon!
